LifeChanging Job Search Arrives – welcome to the new baby

Submitted by on September 6, 2009 – 12:53 pmNo Comment

Years ago, in a rash moment on a girls holiday, we all trooped in to the fortune teller at the end of the pier in Brighton. Gosh, that was so long ago when  I could wear mini skirts  and we all wore false eyelashes and white lipstick, Cheryl Cole would have had some competition!

Anyway,Madame ZaZa,or whover she was, looking extremely ancient, sporting two inch long finger nails and hoopy earrings, told me I would have three children and although two turned up, the third one never appeared. Well I guess number three has just arrived  in a different form.shutterstock_34673764

Before you get too excited, the new arrival is the launch of the Life Changing Job Search Programme, and you will be able to purchase the packages on line as from tomorrow, 7th September 2009. If you do have a glitch with the payment system, contact me directly on allie@life-changing.co.uk because as with little babies, the routine needs to be etablished!!

Funnily enough it has taken about nine months for the business to come together and I am really thrilled to be able to offer, at last, on line help and support to people who are looking either,to find a new job, their first job, change career or revaluate their working lives.

I have worked in the outplacement industry for many years and although LifeChanging is not offering outplacement as such, by constructing an online service  there will be structured and focussed content for you to follow and extra coaching sessions should you want them. There is an on line profile which will provide you with an extensive report into your thinking preferences as well as a recorded teleseminar and workbooks. We will also shortly have ezine as well as a chat/networking room where you can share career tips or troubles with others giving you ongoing support. Take a look at www.life-changing.co.uk

I chose the baby image because it just reminded me how we all arrive in this life full of potential. Some of us are lucky to realise our talents at an early age but most of us struggle through school carrying the comments of teachers and family about who we are in our backpack of life. Sometimes we choose a particular career path to please other people when our own hearts know what we would rather do. Unfortunately this sort of compromise can lead you to feeling squashed and miserable, whereas if you acted on your passion or element, you would have greater wellbeing.

The joy for me in working with people  who want to find themselves or change their careers is that when they start to discover there is more to them than they may have thought possible, they glow with a completely different radiance and energy which then spreads to others around them. When you can truly be yourself, you can truly live your life.

You canalso  learn  how you might sabotage your own success by using unproductive behaviours. These behaviours fit with what you think about yourself and become such a habit they seem to be part of who you are. This is why when you want to change, your old inner messages can keep you trapped and in your uncomfortable comfort zone. It just means you are reacting to your old ‘software’ and need to get yourself a different programme. It just takes time to get used to new behaviours, just the same as when you use an new computer operating system, you have to get to know how it works.

You can see this in evidence on the X factor. Some of the contestants would give themselves a much better chance if they took singing/performance  lessons before they throw themselves to the lion which is Simon Cowell. It also demonstrates that you have the willingness to apply yourself in a world where discipline, stamina and perseverance are vital. Think Madonna, her discipline is awesome.

If you are unprepared for your challenge, you will most likely not succeed and come away feeling worthless/ silly or whatever negative image you carry about with you.

You can change your view of yourself, this is why the Job Search Programme will help you prepare. Research shows that 80% of people never prepare for an interview and try to wing it. Currently, preparation is even more necessary than before or you have got to come up with an innovative idea like the guy who stood on the plinth in Trafalgar Square with a rather large C.V.

Lastly, here are some quotes to keep you uplifted:

If you find a path with no obstacles,it probably doesn’t lead anywhere. When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you till it seem as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn – Harriet Beecher Stowe

The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes but in liking what one has to do – James Barrie

Just trust yourself then you will know how to live – Goethe
