Protecting against swine flu

There is nothing worse for us humans when we believe we have no control over a situation.

Currently, the swine flu and recession are giving a double whammy to our insecurities.

Apart from the general hygiene steps we can take – eg washing hands frequently and using tissues when coughing and sneezing, where possible, open windows and air rooms as the sun is a good source of disinfection.

The main step you can take is to make sure your immune system is functioning at its best. Make sure you have a good diet and decrease the amount of alcohol and other substances you might use.

1000mg Vitamin C with bioflavanoids, can increase the quality of your defence cells and the amount produced by the body. Also take the ACES, with zinc and selenium which are strong immune system boosters.

Ask for advice in your local health food centre about doses and any side effects.

There is quite a substantial amount of research you can find on the web which will help you to source immune boosting knowledge. The suggesting about Vitamin C was actually advised in the Arab News.

This is similar to the process I advocate when job hunting. Across the summer months, the market is always quiet but you can start some research into the kind of industry which you are targetting.

If you are a young person , recently graduated, its worth while you contacting companies to ask if you can shadow someone with the kind of job you would like to have within a company. You would only need to do this for a couple of days a week and this would be a fantastic additon to have on your C.V.

You can also ask friends and family and their network if they can help with this.

So just remember, none of us is in control, but what you can control is building your immunity against infections as best you can and preparing your self for the job market in the same way.

The rest is down to luck, life or faith.
