In the beginning

Well, here I am at last catching up with the technology age.
It seems a long while ago that I began this journey, started by a chance remark in a part time job on the cosmetics counter of a local department store.
I had dusted the shelves, completed the stock returns and was daydreaming when my managers voice burst into life.

‘If you have nothing else to do, rearrange the soaps in the sale section, I always find this therapeutic’ she whinnied.

A defining moment for me as I pondered the possibility that my life was about soap presentation.

I needed something more challenging, I had a good, but underused brain, much of my early life was spent as the carer in the family which didn’t leave much room for excelling at schoolwork. I just about squeaked a few exam passes and then floundered about in the world, getting jobs but no defined career path. I had wanted to sing as a girl, and yesterday ,whilst clearing my papers,I found my old singing certificates and thought back to the young girl of seven, who sang solo on stage and admired her pluck.
If only I had had the support and encouragement then, who knows where my life’s path would have taken me.

This blog is about changing lives: mine and yours, the paths I have taken to get here and what life-changing is all about.

Singing as a career is not an option for me now – I would never get past Simon Cowell, but the road I have taken on the journey to regain my passion, has helped me to sing in a different way.
